Shreem Info Media was set up in 2017 at the New Delhi World Book Fair. The first book- Sorry Not For Sale‘ by Urmila Bhargava. It was a very small team, where the founder Harshit Bhardwaj, who came with a few years experience of international publishing industry, almost managed all departments.
James Hemingway was the first imprint, named after James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway. We wanted to publish books of global value. We wanted to find and publish books that otherwise would not find a publisher due to commercial reasons. How would we make profits and sustain the publishing house commercially was a difficult grey area of uncertainty at the time.
Fast forward 2025- We are still here. We survived years of doing what we committed to do – Publish books without focussing exclusively on the commercial viabilities. Some books sold less than 100 copies, a few sold a small print run of 500, few sold a few thousand. All the success and failure, setbacks, months of frustration, quiet, hustle, staring at the wall, and glimpses of validation from the Universe later- we are so thankful that we are still here.
Not just here- but now jazzed up with a clear vision, experiences of grinding, insights of the industry, a fine-tuned view of the entire publishing process- we are here with a clear offering and direction.
We will commit to publishing books of impact. Books that are crucial for the world. Stories that must be told. Invigorate and rejuvenate the wisdom of Bharat and bring to the world what we, as the oldest living culture, have to offer to the world.
So, join our vision- share this to authors around you. Bless us in our endeavours and be part of this yatra as an author, reader, and a well-wishing friend.
Namaskar,
Team Shreem Books.
